Clinical Depression Study

Depression Research in Orlando

Current treatments for depression not working?

This is a Phase 3 clinical trial, evaluating a new investigational drug for treating clinical depression—also called Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)—in adults. This is a crucial trial that seeks to confirm the drug’s efficacy and safety after a single dose in patients experiencing a major depressive episode. The study is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

The trial’s design involves two parts: a 12-week core period where participants receive a single dose of the investigational drug or a placebo, followed by a 40-week “open-label” extension. The open-label phase allows participants who initially receive placebo to potentially receive the investigational drug based on the severity of their symptoms. This research is significant because it explores the potential to provide a rapid and durable treatment option for the millions of people living with clinical depression.
